Dear Members ,

Shute Theatre and Arts Guild is sad to announce the death of Philippa Moseley on Sunday 27th October 2019.

Philippa, along with her husband David founded STAG in 1981 and it remained her ‘pride and joy’. One of our first productions was “The King’s Knight” a historical play about the Bonville family of  Shute, written  and directed by Philippa, and she subsequently wrote two sequels, the third being “The Nine Days Queen” about Lady Jane Grey. She directed many more plays, including the memorable Scottish Play, Saint Joan, and a drama about Mary Queen of Scots which she also wrote and took on tour. Our sympathies are with David and their family.

The family have asked that we announce details of the forthcoming funeral and extend an invitation to any member that knew Philippa to attend the funeral service which will be held at:

St.Michael’s Church, Shute on Monday 25th November 2019 at 11am (a provisional time), followed by light refreshments in the church after the service.
